More than 100 students received awards and scholarships from both school district groups and community partners.

Two seniors each received four awards and five others received three each as Quakertown Community High School announced its 2020 Senior Awards and Scholarships.
Melissa Nong and Sarah Stofik, who celebrated their
graduation on June 16, each won four scholarship awards.

Melissa earned the Douglas Peiffer Memorial Scholarship Award; National Honor Society Leadership Award; Quakertown Dental Office Mathematics Scholarship Award; and the Quakertown High School Alumni Association Award.
Sarah earned the Dr. George E. Taylor Award; Foundations Community Partnership Award; Quakertown High School Alumni Association Award; and the Warren S. Buck Honorary Chemistry Award.
In all, 113 of 418 graduates earned awards from both school district groups and community partners.
"We are thankful for the continued commitment of our donors, even during these difficult economic times,” Principal Mattias Van’t Hoenderdaal said. “Our students are fortunate to have such incredible role models of what it means to selflessly take care of those around us. It is encouraging to see that these individuals feel compelled to be a part of the success of our students, our school, and the Quakertown community. Their contributions will certainly make an impact to that end."
Earning three awards each were Jacob Berton, Jacob Lewis, Cassidy O’Donnell, Abigail Schwartz and Moriah Wilt.
Jacob Berton, Teddy Bevan-Xenelis, Melissa, Abigail and Sarah were each awarded $1,000 by the high school’s Alumni Association, which has been increasing the number of awards it grants each year.
Melea Rupert, president of the association, and Ray Fox, vice president, personally delivered the checks to the students at their homes. “The students and their families were so very welcoming to us and grateful to receive these awards,” Mrs. Rupert said. “t was truly a wonderful experience to meet them and honor them in this way. It was very evident to us how special the members of this class truly are and we are proud to welcome them all as members of our Alumni family!”
