Purpose:  

• To give interested QCHS choir students additional opportunities to sing in an all-male or all-female ensemble.

• To explore various pop vocal styles including, but not limited to:  Jazz, Swing, Broadway, Pop, Barber Shop…

Audition:      None required.  Any QCHS Choir member, grades 9-12, is eligible.

Rehearsals:

• Each group will rehearse two days a week for one hour each day - exact schedule TBD.

• Rehearsals will begin in January and will continue through May.

• All rehearsals will be supervised by Mrs. Camburn. Student leadership will be cultivated.

• There will be some choreography involved in the performances!

Commitment:

• Rehearsals and Performances are mandatory – all absences must be excused in advance by the director.

Performances: Performance venues will include:

• Spaghetti Dinner – March

• Spring Concert – March

• QCHS Choir Tour – late March/early April

• Spring Trip to Hershey - April or May

• Pops Concert – May/June

Cost:

• Men’s and Women’s Ensembles are school clubs, not school activities. There is no activity fee for these organizations.

• The groups usually choose to get a customized T-shirt. This will serve as our uniform for most performances.  Cost is usually $15.

• We offer the Men’s and Women’s Ensembles the opportunity to participate in an adjudication festival and a day of fun and rides at Hershey Park. Cost: approximately $70 – includes round-trip transportation, adjudication festival and admission to Hershey Park.
